About the Artist

Nancy Hulan is in the midst of a lifelong love affair with books. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in literature and spent decades working in the book publishing industry. Mass-produced books have never had the same allure as hand-crafted ones, however, so she merges her artistic skills with her passion for books into a beautiful meld of book arts. She has received national and regional awards from living history organizations for her work in the medieval book arts. Nancy works out of her studio in Roanoke, Virginia, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
